Shot to fame

Zhang Ziyi (Ziyi is her first name) shot to fame as Jen Yu one of the lead characters in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), her second major film. Her first film The Road Home (1999) was also a lead role. She has since worked on four films including Rush Hour 2 (2001).

Trained Dancer

Ziyi studied dance before beginning acting. Indeed she uses her skills as a dancer in all her fight scenes.

Speaking English

As Ziyi can not speak English, Jackie Chan had to act as her translator on the set of Rush Hour 2 (2001).
